[601] Sāvatthī. "Bhikkhus, there are these four meditators (jhāyī). Which four? Here, bhikkhus, a certain meditator is skilled in attainment (samāpattikusala) regarding concentration (samādhi), but is not one who practices with care (sakkaccakārī) regarding concentration. Here again, bhikkhus, a certain meditator is one who practices with care regarding concentration, but is not skilled in attainment regarding concentration. Here again, bhikkhus, a certain meditator is neither skilled in attainment regarding concentration nor one who practices with care regarding concentration. Here again, bhikkhus, a certain meditator is both skilled in attainment regarding concentration and one who practices with care regarding concentration. Therein … and the most excellent."
