[1093] Bhikkhus, just as whatever actions requiring strength are done, they are all done in dependence on the earth, established upon the earth — it is in this way that these actions requiring strength are done. Even so, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu, in dependence on virtue (sīla), established upon virtue, develops the four right strivings (sammappadhāna), cultivates the four right strivings.
