Balakaraṇīyasutta

[266] The setting is Sāvatthī. Bhikkhus, just as whatever actions requiring strength are done, they are all done in dependence on the earth, established upon the earth — it is thus that these actions requiring strength are done. Even so, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu, in dependence on virtue (sīla), established upon virtue, develops the noble eightfold path (magga), and cultivates the noble eightfold path.
