Paññāvaggavivekkathā

[701] Just as, bhikkhus, whatever actions requiring strength are done, they are all done in dependence on the earth, standing upon the earth — it is thus that these actions requiring strength are done; even so, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu, in dependence on virtue (sīla), established upon virtue, develops the Noble Eightfold Path (ariya aṭṭhaṅgika magga) and cultivates the Noble Eightfold Path.
