[1105] And how, bhikkhus, does a bhikkhu who is developing the five powers (bala), who is making much of the five powers, come to slant toward Nibbāna, slope toward Nibbāna, incline toward Nibbāna? Here, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu develops the power of faith (saddhābala), which has as its culmination the removal of lust (rāga), the removal of hatred, the removal of delusion … It is in this way, bhikkhus, that a bhikkhu who is developing the five powers, who is making much of the five powers, comes to slant toward Nibbāna, slope toward Nibbāna, incline toward Nibbāna.
