Paṭhamaānandasutta

Suttapiṭaka · Saṁyuttanikāya · Mahāvaggasaṁyutta · Vol. 19 · Section 1395

[1395] "At the time, Ānanda, when a bhikkhu's mindfulness (sati) is established and unmuddled, on that occasion the mindfulness factor of awakening (satisambojjhaṅga) is aroused by the bhikkhu; on that occasion the bhikkhu develops the mindfulness factor of awakening; on that occasion the mindfulness factor of awakening comes to fulfillment by development in the bhikkhu. (This should be elaborated in the same way as the first establishment of mindfulness (satipaṭṭhāna).) He becomes one who looks on well with equanimity at the mind (citta) thus concentrated."
