[190] "And how, bhikkhus, does a bhikkhu developing the Noble Eightfold Path (ariya aṭṭhaṅgika magga), cultivating the Noble Eightfold Path abundantly, become one who slants toward Nibbāna, slopes toward Nibbāna, inclines toward Nibbāna? Here, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu develops right view (sammādiṭṭhi) dependent on seclusion (viveka), dependent on dispassion (virāga) … he develops right concentration (sammāsamādhi) dependent on seclusion, dependent on dispassion, dependent on cessation (nirodha), maturing in relinquishment (vossagga). It is in this way, bhikkhus, that a bhikkhu developing the Noble Eightfold Path, cultivating the Noble Eightfold Path abundantly, becomes one who slants toward Nibbāna, slopes toward Nibbāna, inclines toward Nibbāna."
