[305] Bhikkhus, it is for the direct knowledge (abhiññā) of these three searches (esanā) that the Noble Eightfold Path should be developed. And what is the Noble Eightfold Path? Here, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu develops right view (sammādiṭṭhi) … develops right concentration (samādhi), which slants toward Nibbāna, slopes toward Nibbāna, inclines toward Nibbāna. It is for the direct knowledge of these three searches, bhikkhus, that this Noble Eightfold Path should be developed.
