[332] Bhikkhus, for the direct knowledge (abhiññā), for the full understanding (pariññā), for the utter destruction, and for the abandoning of these three cravings (taṇhā) … having the removal of lust (rāga) as its final goal, having the removal of hatred as its final goal, having the removal of delusion as its final goal … merging in the Deathless (amata), having the Deathless as its destination, having the Deathless as its final goal … slanting toward Nibbāna, sloping toward Nibbāna, inclining toward Nibbāna. Bhikkhus, for the direct knowledge, for the full understanding, for the utter destruction, and for the abandoning of these three cravings … this Noble Eightfold Path is to be developed.
