[154] **"Whatever"** (*yo pana*): whoever, of whatever sort … **"Bhikkhu"**: … — this one is the **bhikkhu** intended in this sense as "bhikkhu."
**"Himself"** (*sāmaṃ*): having himself requested it.
**"Thread"** (*suttaṃ nāma*): there are six kinds of thread: linen (*khoma*), cotton (*kappāsika*), silk (*koseyya*), wool (*kambala*), hemp (*sāṇa*), and coarse mixed fiber (*bhaṅga*).
**"By weavers"** (*tantavāyehi*): he has it woven by weavers: in the effort (*payoga*) there is an offence of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa). With the obtaining of it, it becomes subject to forfeiture (nissaggiya): it must be forfeited to the Saṅgha, or to a group, or to an individual.
"And thus, bhikkhus, it should be forfeited: … 'Venerable sirs, this robe of mine, which I had woven by weavers after myself requesting the thread, is to be forfeited. I forfeit it to the Saṅgha.' … 'should give …' … 'should give …' … 'I give this to the venerable one.'"
