[75] **"Whatever" (yo pana):** whoever, of whatever sort … **"Bhikkhu" (bhikkhu):** … this is the bhikkhu intended in this meaning.
**"Felt rug" (santhata):** it is made by spreading out [the material]; it is not woven.
**"Should have made":** if, mixing in even a single strand of silk, he makes it himself or has it made, there is an offence of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa) in the act of undertaking; on obtaining it, it becomes subject to forfeiture (nissaggiya). It must be forfeited to a Saṅgha, or to a group, or to an individual.
"And thus, bhikkhus, it should be forfeited: … 'Venerable sirs, this felt rug mixed with silk, which I had made, is to be forfeited; I forfeit it to the Saṅgha.' … 'should give [it back]' … 'they should give [it back]' … 'I give [this rug] to the venerable one.'"
