[257] One who is fully ordained (upasampanna), having heard it from one who is fully ordained, conveys slander (pesuñña) to one who is fully ordained, saying: "So-and-so calls you a caṇḍāla (outcaste), a veṇa (bamboo-worker), a nesāda (hunter), a rathakāra (cartwright), a pukkusa (scavenger)" — for each utterance there is an offense of pācittiya.
