Nissaggiyakaṇḍa

Vinayapiṭaka · Bhikkhu Vibhaṅga (2) · Vol. 2 · Section 6

[6] That bhikkhu should approach a certain bhikkhu, arrange his upper robe over one shoulder, sit down squatting on his heels, raise his hands in reverential salutation, and address him thus: "Friend, this robe of mine, having exceeded ten days, is subject to relinquishment (nissaggiya). I relinquish it to the venerable one." Having relinquished it, the offense (āpatti) should be confessed. The offense should be acknowledged by that bhikkhu, and the relinquished robe should be given back, saying: "I give this robe to the venerable one."
