[7] When ten days have elapsed, perceiving that they have elapsed: it is subject to relinquishment (nissaggiya), an offense of pācittiya. ¹
When ten days have elapsed, being in doubt: it is subject to relinquishment, an offense of pācittiya. When ten days have elapsed, perceiving that they have not elapsed: it is subject to relinquishment, an offense of pācittiya. When it has not been determined (adhiṭṭhita), perceiving that it has been determined: it is subject to relinquishment, an offense of pācittiya. When it has not been assigned (vikappita), perceiving that it has been assigned: it is subject to relinquishment, an offense of pācittiya. When it has not been given away, perceiving that it has been given away: it is subject to relinquishment, an offense of pācittiya. When it has not been lost, perceiving that it has been lost: it is subject to relinquishment, an offense of pācittiya. When it has not been destroyed, perceiving that it has been destroyed: it is subject to relinquishment, an offense of pācittiya. When it has not been burnt, perceiving that it has been burnt: it is subject to relinquishment, an offense of pācittiya. When it has not been carried off by force, perceiving that it has been carried off by force: it is subject to relinquishment, an offense of pācittiya.
If he uses a robe-cloth (cīvara) that is subject to relinquishment without having relinquished it: an offense of dukkaṭa. When ten days have not elapsed, perceiving that they have elapsed: an offense of dukkaṭa. When ten days have not elapsed, being in doubt: an offense of dukkaṭa. When ten days have not elapsed, perceiving that they have not elapsed: there is no offense.
