[162] "**Ten days remaining**" (*dasāhānāgataṃ*): when the Pavāraṇā is still ten days in the future.
"**The Kattika full moon that completes the three months**" (*kattikatemāsipuṇṇamaṃ*): the Pavāraṇā [full moon] is called "Kattikā."
"**Urgent robe-cloth (acceka-cīvara)**" means: a person wishes to go with an army, or wishes to go abroad, or is sick, or is pregnant, or faith has arisen in one without faith, or confidence has arisen in one without confidence. If he should send a messenger into the presence of the **bhikkhus**, saying, "Let the venerable ones come; I will give the rains-residence cloth (*vassāvāsika*)" — this is called an urgent robe-cloth.
"**It should be accepted by a bhikkhu perceiving it to be urgent; having accepted it, it should be deposited until the robe-season**": it should be deposited after making a mark, "This is an urgent robe-cloth."
"**The robe-season**" (*cīvarakālasamaya*) means: when the kaṭhina has not been spread, the last month of the rains; when the kaṭhina has been spread, five months.
"**If he should deposit it beyond that**": when the kaṭhina has not been spread, if he lets the last day of the rains pass, it becomes subject to forfeiture (*nissaggiya*). When the kaṭhina has been spread, if he lets the day of the withdrawal of the kaṭhina pass, it becomes subject to forfeiture; it must be forfeited to a Saṅgha, or to a group, or to an individual. "And thus, Bhikkhus, it should be forfeited: …" — "Venerable sirs, this urgent robe-cloth of mine, kept beyond the robe-season, is subject to forfeiture; I forfeit it to the Saṅgha" … "should give it" … "should give it" … "I give this to the venerable one."
