**A bhikkhu being present (santo)** means: it is possible to enter having taken leave of a bhikkhu.
**A bhikkhu being absent (asanto)** means: it is not possible to enter having taken leave of a bhikkhu.
**The wrong time (vikāla)** means: from when midday has passed until the arising of dawn.
**Should enter a village:** for one who goes beyond the enclosure of an enclosed village, there is an offense of pācittiya. For one who steps into the vicinity (upacāra) of an unenclosed village, there is an offense of pācittiya.
**Except when there is urgent business of such a kind:** setting aside urgent business of such a kind.
