[13] Bhikkhus, I do not see even one other thing by which unarisen ill will (byāpāda) arises, or arisen ill will leads to increase and abundance, so much as this, bhikkhus: the sign of repulsion (paṭighanimitta). Bhikkhus, for one attending unwisely to the sign of repulsion, unarisen ill will arises, and arisen ill will leads to increase and abundance.
