[16] Bhikkhus, I do not see even one other thing (dhamma) by which unarisen doubt (vicikicchā) arises, or arisen doubt leads to increase and abundance, so much as this, bhikkhus: careless attention (ayoniso manasikāra). Bhikkhus, for one who attends carelessly, unarisen doubt arises, and arisen doubt leads to increase and abundance.
