[64] Bhikkhus, one possessed of four qualities is placed in hell as if carried and put there. Of which four? He is one who destroys life (pāṇātipātī), one who takes what is not given (adinnādāyī), one who engages in sexual misconduct (kāmesu micchācārī), and one who speaks falsely (musāvādī). Possessed of these four qualities, bhikkhus, one is placed in hell as if carried and put there.
Destruction of life, taking what is not given,
and what is called false speech,
and going to the wife of another —
these the wise do not praise.
