[218] "**Whatever** (*yā pana*)": whoever, of whatever sort … . "**Bhikkhunī**": … this is the bhikkhunī intended in this context. "**Herself** (*attānaṃ*)": her own person (paccattaṃ). Beating herself again and again, she weeps: an offense of pācittiya. She beats but does not weep: an offense of dukkaṭa. She weeps but does not beat: an offense of dukkaṭa. Non-offense Clause (anāpattivāra)
