[72] That bhikkhunī should be formally admonished (samanubhāsanā). And thus, bhikkhus, should she be admonished: the Saṅgha should be informed by a competent and capable bhikkhunī:
"Venerable ladies, let the Saṅgha hear me. This bhikkhunī named so-and-so, having been defeated in some legal issue (adhikaraṇa), angry and displeased,¹ speaks thus: 'The bhikkhunīs follow the course of desire … and the bhikkhunīs follow the course of fear.' She does not relinquish that matter. If it is the right time for the Saṅgha, let the Saṅgha formally admonish the bhikkhunī named so-and-so for the relinquishment of that matter. This is the motion (ñatti).
"Venerable ladies, let the Saṅgha hear me. This bhikkhunī named so-and-so, having been defeated in some legal issue, angry and displeased, speaks thus: 'The bhikkhunīs follow the course of desire … and the bhikkhunīs follow the course of fear.' She does not relinquish that matter. The Saṅgha formally admonishes the bhikkhunī named so-and-so for the relinquishment of that matter. Whichever venerable lady approves of the formal admonition of the bhikkhunī named so-and-so for the relinquishment of that matter, let her remain silent; whichever does not approve, let her speak.
"For a second time I declare this matter. … For a third time I declare this matter. …
"The bhikkhunī named so-and-so has been formally admonished by the Saṅgha for the relinquishment of that matter. The Saṅgha approves; therefore it is silent. Thus do I hold it."
