[279] That bhikkhunī should be formally admonished (samanubhāsitabbā). And thus, bhikkhus, should she be admonished: The Saṅgha should be informed by a competent and capable bhikkhunī:
"Venerable ladies, let the Saṅgha hear me. This bhikkhunī named so-and-so dwells in close association with a householder and with a householder's son. She does not relinquish that matter. If the Saṅgha is ready, let the Saṅgha formally admonish the bhikkhunī named so-and-so for the relinquishing of that matter. This is the motion (ñatti).
"Venerable ladies, let the Saṅgha hear me. This bhikkhunī named so-and-so dwells in close association with a householder and with a householder's son. She does not relinquish that matter. The Saṅgha formally admonishes the bhikkhunī named so-and-so for the relinquishing of that matter. Whatever venerable lady approves of the formal admonishment of the bhikkhunī named so-and-so for the relinquishing of that matter, let her be silent; whoever does not approve, let her speak.
"For the second time also I declare this matter … For the third time also I declare this matter …
"The bhikkhunī named so-and-so has been formally admonished by the Saṅgha for the relinquishing of that matter. The Saṅgha approves; therefore it is silent. Thus do I hold it."
