[80] Those bhikkhunīs should be formally admonished (samanubhāsitabbā). And thus, bhikkhus, should they be admonished: the Saṅgha should be informed by a competent and capable bhikkhunī:
"Venerable ladies, let the Saṅgha hear me. The bhikkhunīs named so-and-so and so-and-so dwell in close association, of bad conduct, of bad repute, of bad renown, harassers of the Bhikkhunī Saṅgha, concealers of one another's faults. They do not relinquish that matter. If it is the right time for the Saṅgha, let the Saṅgha admonish the bhikkhunīs named so-and-so and so-and-so for the relinquishing of that matter. This is the motion (ñatti).
"Venerable ladies, let the Saṅgha hear me. The bhikkhunīs named so-and-so and so-and-so dwell in close association, of bad conduct, of bad repute, of bad renown, harassers of the Bhikkhunī Saṅgha, concealers of one another's faults. They do not relinquish that matter. The Saṅgha admonishes the bhikkhunīs named so-and-so and so-and-so for the relinquishing of that matter. To whichever venerable lady the admonition of the bhikkhunīs named so-and-so and so-and-so for the relinquishing of that matter is agreeable, let her be silent; to whichever venerable lady it is not agreeable, let her speak.
"For a second time also I declare this matter. … For a third time also I declare this matter. …
"The bhikkhunīs named so-and-so and so-and-so have been admonished by the Saṅgha for the relinquishing of that matter. It is agreeable to the Saṅgha; therefore it is silent. Thus do I hold it."
