[95] That bhikkhunī should approach the Saṅgha, arrange her upper robe (uttarāsaṅga) over one shoulder, pay homage at the feet of the senior bhikkhunīs, squat down on her heels, raise her joined palms, and address it thus: "Venerable ladies, this bowl of mine, kept beyond a night, is subject to forfeiture (nissaggiya). I forfeit it to the Saṅgha." Having forfeited it, the offence (āpatti) should be confessed. The offence should be acknowledged by an experienced and competent bhikkhunī. The forfeited bowl should be given back: "Venerable ladies, let the Saṅgha listen to me. This bowl, belonging to the bhikkhunī named so-and-so, subject to forfeiture, has been forfeited to the Saṅgha. If the Saṅgha is ready, let the Saṅgha give this bowl back to the bhikkhunī named so-and-so."
