[601] **"To be seen for oneself, not delayed" (sandiṭṭhikam akālikaṃ):** it is to be seen for oneself (sandiṭṭhika), not delayed (akālika), inviting one to come and see (ehipassika), worthy of inducing in one's own mind (opanayika), to be known individually by the wise (paccattaṃ veditabbaṃ viññūhi) — thus it is "to be seen for oneself, not delayed."
Or alternatively: whoever develops the noble eightfold path (magga) in this very life — immediately upon that path, without interval, he attains, finds, and obtains its fruit — thus too it is "to be seen for oneself, not delayed."
Just as people, having given out wealth on terms of time, do not receive [its return] immediately but must await the [appointed] time — this Dhamma is not like that. Whoever develops the noble eightfold path in this very life — immediately upon that path, without interval, he attains, finds, and obtains its fruit — not elsewhere, not in another world. Thus it is "not delayed"; therefore it is "to be seen for oneself, not delayed."
