Mahāvagga

Suttapiṭaka · Khuddakanikāya · Paṭisambhidāmagga · Vol. 31 · Section 197

[197] Knowledges (ñāṇa) regarding the seven dhammas, knowledges regarding the seven meanings, knowledges regarding the fourteen expressions of language (nirutti): the knowledges regarding dhammas are one thing, the knowledges regarding meanings are another, and the knowledges regarding expressions of language are another. By whatever knowledge these diverse knowledges are known, by that very knowledge these diverse knowledges are penetrated. Therefore it is said: wisdom in the diversity of ready wit (paṭibhāṇa) is the knowledge of the analytic insight of ready wit (paṭibhāṇa-paṭisambhidā).
