[179] At the salaḷa, the supreme tree of awakening of the sage (muni) Padumuttara,
with a mind (citta) full of confidence, glad at heart, I gave a single lamp.
While I was being reborn in existence, the accumulation of merit having been produced,
I know of no bad destination: this is the fruit of the gift of a lamp.

Sixteen thousand aeons from now,¹ those four persons,
Candābhā by name, were wheel-turning monarchs (cakkavattī) of great might.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and also these eight liberations (vimokkha),
and the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching has been done.
Thus indeed the Venerable Ekadīpiya the Elder spoke these verses.
