[264] When the Blessed One Siddhattha, the Bull among Men, had attained final Nibbāna,
at that very time I smeared oil upon the railing (vedikā) of the Bodhi tree.
In the ninety-fourth aeon from now, the oil that I smeared then—
I know of no bad destination (duggati); this is the fruit of the smearing.
In the twenty-fourth aeon from now there was a khattiya named Succhavi,
a wheel-turning monarch (cakkavatti) of great might, endowed with the seven treasures (sattaratana).
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and also these eight liberations (vimokkha),
and the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching has been fulfilled.
Thus indeed the Venerable Elder Telamakkhiya spoke these verses.
