[298] On the Himavant mountain I was then a kinnara;
I saw the stainless Buddha, like the sun (bhāṇumant) with its golden rays.
Then, having approached¹ the Buddha Vipassī, the Leader of the World,
at that time I sprinkled sandalwood, and tagara too, upon his feet.
In the ninety-first aeon (kappa) from now, since I worshipped that foot,²
I know of no bad destination (duggati) — this is the fruit of the worship of the foot.
The four analytic insights (paṭisambhidā), and also these eight liberations (vimokkha),
the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized; the Buddha's teaching (sāsana) has been fulfilled.
Thus indeed the Venerable Elder Padapūjaka³ spoke these verses.
The Apadāna of the Elder Padapūjaka is concluded.
