[164] Which phenomena (dhammā) are wholesome? On the occasion when one develops the path (magga) for rebirth in the form sphere (rūpūpapatti) and, quite secluded from sensual pleasures, … enters and dwells in the first jhāna — of pleasant practice and sluggish direct knowledge (sukhāpaṭipadā dandhābhiññā) — with the earth kasiṇa (paṭhavīkasiṇa): on that occasion there is contact (phassa) … there is non-distraction (avikkhepa) … These phenomena are wholesome.
