Suññatavāra

[163] Which phenomena (dhammā) are wholesome (kusala)? On the occasion when one develops the path (magga) for rebirth in the form sphere (rūpūpapatti) and — quite secluded from sensual pleasures … — enters upon and dwells in the first jhāna, of painful practice and quick direct knowledge (dukkhāpaṭipadaṃ khippābhiññaṃ), with the earth kasiṇa (paṭhavīkasiṇa): on that occasion there is contact (phassa) … there is non-distraction (avikkhepa) … These phenomena are wholesome.
