[166] Which phenomena (dhammā) are wholesome? On the occasion when one develops the path for rebirth in the form sphere (rūpūpapatti) and — with the subsiding of thought-conception (vitakka) and discursive thought (vicāra) … — enters and dwells in the second jhāna … the third jhāna … the fourth jhāna … the first jhāna … the fifth jhāna: of painful practice and sluggish direct knowledge (dukkhāpaṭipadā dandhābhiññā), on the earth kasiṇa (paṭhavīkasiṇa) … of painful practice and swift direct knowledge (dukkhāpaṭipadā khippābhiññā), on the earth kasiṇa … of pleasant practice and sluggish direct knowledge (sukhāpaṭipadā dandhābhiññā), on the earth kasiṇa … of pleasant practice and swift direct knowledge (sukhāpaṭipadā khippābhiññā), on the earth kasiṇa — on that occasion there is contact (phassa) … there is non-distraction (avikkhepa) … These phenomena are wholesome.
