[139] Which phenomena (dhammā) are wholesome?
On the occasion when one develops the path (magga) for rebirth in the form sphere (rūpūpapatti) — when, quite secluded from sensual pleasures, secluded from unwholesome phenomena, one enters and dwells in the first jhāna, accompanied by thought-conception (vitakka) and discursive thought (vicāra), with rapture (pīti) and pleasure born of seclusion (viveka), [on] the earth kasiṇa (paṭhavīkasiṇa) — on that occasion there is contact (phassa) … there is non-distraction (avikkhepa) …
These phenomena are wholesome.
