[177] Which phenomena (dhammā) are wholesome? On the occasion when one develops the path (magga) for rebirth in the form sphere (rūpūpapatti) and, quite secluded from sensual pleasures, … enters and dwells in the first jhāna on the water kasiṇa (āpokasiṇa) … the fire kasiṇa (tejokasiṇa) … the air kasiṇa (vāyokasiṇa) … the blue kasiṇa (nīlakasiṇa) … the yellow kasiṇa (pītakasiṇa) … the red kasiṇa (lohitakasiṇa) … the white kasiṇa (odātakasiṇa) — on that occasion there is contact (phassa) … there is non-distraction (avikkhepa) … These phenomena are wholesome. The eight kasiṇas, sixteen times each.
