[225] Which, on that occasion, is the power of energy (viriyabala)?
That which on that occasion is the mental (cetasika) arousing of energy (viriyārambha), the striving (nikkama), endeavor (parakkama), exertion (uyyāma), effort (vāyāma), diligence (ussāha), perseverance (ussoḷhī), vigor (thāma), steadfastness (dhiti), unfaltering endeavor (asithila-parakkamatā), not relinquishing zeal (anikkhitta-chandatā), not laying down the task (anikkhitta-dhuratā), firm shouldering of the task (dhura-sampaggāha), energy (viriya), the faculty of energy (viriyindriya), the power of energy, right effort (sammāvāyāma), the energy factor of awakening (viriya-sambojjhaṅga), a factor of the path (maggaṅga), included in the path (magga-pariyāpanna) — this, on that occasion, is the power of energy.
