Suññatavāra

[255] Which, on that occasion, is exertion (paggāha)? That which on that occasion is the mental arousing of energy (viriyārambha), endeavour (nikkama), striving (parakkama), application (uyyāma), effort (vāyāma), zeal (ussāha), perseverance (ussoḷhī), vigour (thāma), steadfastness (dhiti), the state of unslackened striving (asithilaparakkamatā), the state of not laying aside desire (anikkhittacchandatā), the state of not laying aside the task (anikkhittadhuratā), the firm upholding of the task (dhurasampaggāha), energy (viriya), the energy faculty (viriyindriya), the power of energy (viriyabala), right effort (sammāvāyāma), the energy factor of awakening (viriyasambojjhaṅga), a factor of the path (maggaṅga), included in the path (maggapariyāpanna) — this, on that occasion, is exertion.
