Suññatavāra

[286] Which, on that occasion, is the faculty of energy (viriyindriya)? That which on that occasion is the mental arousal of energy (viriyārambha) — the striving, the persistence, the exertion, the effort (vāyāma), the zeal, the endurance, the vigour, the steadfastness, the state of unslackened persistence, the state of not laying down desire (chanda), the state of not laying down the task (dhura), the firm upholding of the task; energy (viriya), the faculty of energy, the power of energy, wrong effort (micchāvāyāma) — this, on that occasion, is the faculty of energy.
