[395] Which, on that occasion, is the life faculty (jīvitindriya)? That which, of those immaterial phenomena (dhammā), is the vitality (āyu), the persistence (ṭhiti), the going on (yapanā), the keeping going (yāpanā), the moving on (iriyanā), the proceeding (vattanā), the maintaining (pālanā), the life (jīvita), the faculty that is life — this, on that occasion, is the life faculty.
