[822] Which phenomena (dhammā) are accompanied by thought (savitakka)?
In the plane (bhūmi) accompanied by thought — in the sense-sphere (kāmāvacara), in the form-sphere (rūpāvacara), and in the unincluded (apariyāpanna) — setting aside thought (vitakka), the aggregate of feeling (vedanākkhandha) associated with it … the aggregate of consciousness (viññāṇakkhandha): these phenomena are accompanied by thought.
Which phenomena are without thought (avitakka)?
In the plane without thought — in the sense-sphere, in the form-sphere, in the formless-sphere (arūpāvacara), and in the unincluded — the aggregate of feeling … the aggregate of consciousness; and thought, and all form (rūpa), and the unconditioned element (asaṅkhatā dhātu): these phenomena are without thought.
