[229] The truth of origin (samudayasacca) is a tie (gantha); two truths are not ties; the truth of suffering (dukkhasacca) sometimes is a tie, sometimes is not a tie. Two truths are subject to ties (ganthaniya); two truths are not subject to ties. Two truths are dissociated from ties (ganthavippayutta); two truths sometimes are associated with ties (ganthasampayutta), sometimes are dissociated from ties. The truth of origin is both a tie and subject to ties; two truths should not be said to be either "both ties and subject to ties" or "subject to ties but not ties"; the truth of suffering sometimes is both a tie and subject to ties, sometimes is subject to ties but not a tie. The truth of origin is both a tie and associated with ties; sometimes it should not be said to be either "both a tie and associated with ties" or "associated with ties but not a tie"; two truths should not be said to be either "both ties and associated with ties" or "associated with ties but not ties"; the truth of suffering sometimes is both a tie and associated with ties, sometimes is associated with ties but not a tie, sometimes should not be said to be either "both a tie and associated with ties" or "associated with ties but not a tie". Two truths are dissociated from ties and not subject to ties; two truths sometimes are dissociated from ties yet subject to ties, sometimes should not be said to be either "dissociated from ties yet subject to ties" or "dissociated from ties and not subject to ties".
