[238] Therein, what is the femininity faculty (itthindriya)? That which, of a woman, is feminine form, feminine mark, feminine behavior, feminine deportment, femininity, feminine nature — this is called the femininity faculty.
Therein, what is the masculinity faculty (purisindriya)? That which, of a man, is masculine form, masculine mark, masculine behavior, masculine deportment, masculinity, masculine nature — this is called the masculinity faculty.
Therein, what is the life faculty (jīvitindriya)? The life faculty is twofold: there is the material life faculty; there is the immaterial life faculty.
Therein, what is the material life faculty? That which, of those material phenomena (dhammā), is life span, persistence, keeping going, being kept going, moving on, proceeding, maintaining, life, the life faculty — this is called the material life faculty.
Therein, what is the immaterial life faculty? That which, of those immaterial phenomena, is life span, persistence, keeping going, being kept going, moving on, proceeding, maintaining, life, the life faculty — this is called the immaterial life faculty.
