[54] By way of one (ekavidhena), the aggregate of perception (saññākkhandha) is associated with contact (phassa-sampayutta).
By way of two, the aggregate of perception: there is that which is with roots (sahetuka); there is that which is without roots (ahetuka).
By way of three, the aggregate of perception: there is that which is wholesome (kusala); there is that which is unwholesome (akusala); there is that which is indeterminate (abyākata).
By way of four, the aggregate of perception: there is that belonging to the sense sphere (kāmāvacara); there is that belonging to the form sphere (rūpāvacara); there is that belonging to the formless sphere (arūpāvacara); there is that which is not included (apariyāpanna).
By way of five, the aggregate of perception: there is that associated with the pleasure faculty (sukhindriya); there is that associated with the pain faculty (dukkhindriya); there is that associated with the joy faculty (somanassindriya); there is that associated with the grief faculty (domanassindriya); there is that associated with the equanimity faculty (upekkhindriya).
By way of six, the aggregate of perception: perception born of eye-contact (cakkhusamphassajā saññā), perception born of ear-contact, perception born of nose-contact, perception born of tongue-contact, perception born of body-contact, perception born of mind-contact. Thus by way of six is the aggregate of perception.
By way of seven, the aggregate of perception: perception born of eye-contact … perception born of body-contact, perception born of contact with the mind element (manodhātu), perception born of contact with the mind-consciousness element (manoviññāṇadhātu). Thus by way of seven is the aggregate of perception.
By way of eight, the aggregate of perception: perception born of eye-contact … perception born of body-contact — there is that accompanied by pleasure (sukhasahagatā); there is that accompanied by pain (dukkhasahagatā) — perception born of contact with the mind element, perception born of contact with the mind-consciousness element. Thus by way of eight is the aggregate of perception.
By way of nine, the aggregate of perception: perception born of eye-contact … perception born of body-contact, perception born of contact with the mind element, perception born of contact with the mind-consciousness element — there is that which is wholesome; there is that which is unwholesome; there is that which is indeterminate. Thus by way of nine is the aggregate of perception.
By way of ten, the aggregate of perception: perception born of eye-contact … perception born of body-contact — there is that accompanied by pleasure; there is that accompanied by pain — perception born of contact with the mind element, perception born of contact with the mind-consciousness element — there is that which is wholesome; there is that which is unwholesome; there is that which is indeterminate. Thus by way of ten is the aggregate of perception.
