[647] "He purifies the mind (citta) from doubt (vicikicchā)": therein, what is doubt?
That which is doubt (kaṅkhā), doubting, doubtfulness, … rigidity of mind (cittassa thambhitattaṃ), mental perplexity (manovilekho) — this is called doubt.
Therein, what is the mind?
That which is mind, mentality (mano), mentation (mānasa), … the corresponding mind-consciousness element (tajjā manoviññāṇadhātu) — this is called mind.
This mind he cleanses, purifies, fully purifies, frees, releases, and fully releases from this doubt; therefore it is said: "he purifies the mind from doubt."
