[83] The aggregate of consciousness (viññāṇakkhandha) by way of many kinds: The aggregate of consciousness with eye-contact (cakkhusamphassa) as condition: there is that which is wholesome (kusala); there is that which is unwholesome (akusala); there is that which is indeterminate (abyākata); there is that of the sense sphere (kāmāvacara); there is that of the form sphere (rūpāvacara); there is that of the formless sphere (arūpāvacara); there is that which is unincluded (apariyāpanna). With ear-contact (sotasamphassa) as condition … with nose-contact (ghānasamphassa) as condition … with tongue-contact (jivhāsamphassa) as condition … with body-contact (kāyasamphassa) as condition … with mind-contact (manosamphassa) as condition, the aggregate of consciousness: there is that which is wholesome; there is that which is unwholesome; there is that which is indeterminate; there is that of the sense sphere; there is that of the form sphere; there is that of the formless sphere; there is that which is unincluded. Eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa) … mind-consciousness (manoviññāṇa). Thus is the aggregate of consciousness by way of many kinds.
The aggregate of consciousness by way of many kinds, in yet another way: The aggregate of consciousness with eye-contact as condition: there is that associated (sampayutta) with pleasant feeling (vedanā); there is that associated with painful feeling; there is that associated with neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling … there is that having an internal object (ajjhattārammaṇa); there is that having an external object (bahiddhārammaṇa); there is that having an internal-and-external object (ajjhattabahiddhārammaṇa); there is that of the sense sphere; there is that of the form sphere; there is that of the formless sphere; there is that which is unincluded. With ear-contact as condition … with nose-contact as condition … with tongue-contact as condition … with body-contact as condition … with mind-contact as condition, the aggregate of consciousness: there is that having an internal object; there is that having an external object; there is that having an internal-and-external object; there is that of the sense sphere; there is that of the form sphere; there is that of the formless sphere; there is that which is unincluded. Eye-consciousness … mind-consciousness. Thus is the aggregate of consciousness by way of many kinds.
