[1668] [Sakavādin:] Is form (rūpa) wholesome (kusala)? [Paravādin:] Yes. [S:] Does it have an object (sārammaṇa)? Is there adverting (āvajjanā) of it, … resolve (paṇidhi)? [P:] It should not be said thus. … [S:] Is form not without an object (anārammaṇa)? Is there no adverting of it, … resolve? [P:] Yes. [S:] If it is without an object, and there is no adverting of it, … resolve, then surely you should not say that form is wholesome.
