[544] Sakavādī: Is there doubt (kaṅkhā) in an Arahant?
Paravādī: Yes.
Sakavādī: But was it not said by the Blessed One: "Bhikkhus, at the time when there arises in the noble disciple (ariyasāvaka) the dust-free, stainless eye of the Dhamma (dhammacakkhu) — 'Whatever is subject to origination, all that is subject to cessation' — together with the arising of seeing (dassana), bhikkhus, the noble disciple's three fetters (saṃyojana) are abandoned: personality-view (sakkāyadiṭṭhi), doubt (vicikicchā), and adherence to rules and rituals (sīlabbataparāmāsa)"? Is there indeed such a discourse (suttanta)?
Paravādī: Yes.
Sakavādī: Then indeed it should not be said, "There is doubt in an Arahant."
