[1071] For whomever, wherever, bodily formation (kāyasaṅkhāra) will not arise, will verbal formation (vacīsaṅkhāra) not arise for that one there?
For sense-sphere (kāmāvacara) beings immediately after whose mind (citta) the final mind (pacchimacitta) will arise, and for form-sphere (rūpāvacara) and formless-sphere (arūpāvacara) beings — for them, there, bodily formation will not arise, but it is not the case that, for them, there, verbal formation will not arise. For those endowed with the final mind; for those immediately after whose mind there will arise a final mind devoid of thought-conception and discursive thought (avitakka-avicāra); for those who have attained the fourth jhāna; and for non-percipient beings (asaññasattā) — for them, there, bodily formation will not arise and verbal formation will not arise.
Or, for whomever, wherever, verbal formation will not arise, will bodily formation not arise for that one there?
For those who have attained the second jhāna or the third jhāna — for them, there, verbal formation will not arise, but it is not the case that, for them, there, bodily formation will not arise. For those endowed with the final mind; for those immediately after whose mind there will arise a final mind devoid of thought-conception and discursive thought; for those who have attained the fourth jhāna; and for non-percipient beings — for them, there, verbal formation will not arise and bodily formation will not arise.
