Suddhasaṅkhāravāra

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (1) · Vol. 38 · Section 1106

[1106] For whomever, wherever, bodily formation (kāyasaṅkhāra) had arisen, will verbal formation (vacīsaṅkhāra) arise for that one there? For those possessed of the final mind (pacchimacitta) in the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), and for those who have attained the second jhāna or the third jhāna: for them there, bodily formation had arisen, but verbal formation will not arise for them there. For those who have attained the first jhāna, and for the other beings of the sense sphere: for them there, bodily formation had arisen and verbal formation will arise. Or else: for whomever, wherever, verbal formation will arise, had bodily formation arisen for that one there? For beings of the form sphere (rūpāvacara) and of the formless sphere (arūpāvacara): for them there, verbal formation will arise, but bodily formation had not arisen for them there. For those who have attained the first jhāna, and for beings of the sense sphere: for them there, verbal formation will arise and bodily formation had arisen.
