Suddhasaṅkhāravāra

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (1) · Vol. 38 · Section 1107

[1107] For whomever, wherever, the bodily formation (kāyasaṅkhāra) arose: will the mental formation (cittasaṅkhāra) arise for that one there? For those possessed of the final mind (pacchimacitta) in the sense sphere (kāmāvacara): for them, there, the bodily formation arose, but the mental formation will not arise for them there. For those who have entered the first jhāna, the second jhāna, or the third jhāna, and for the other sense-sphere beings: for them, there, both the bodily formation arose and the mental formation will arise. Or else, for whomever, wherever, the mental formation will arise: did the bodily formation arise for that one there? For those who have entered the fourth jhāna, and for beings of the form sphere (rūpāvacara) and the formless sphere (arūpāvacara): for them, there, the mental formation will arise, but the bodily formation did not arise for them there. For those who have entered the first jhāna, the second jhāna, or the third jhāna, and for sense-sphere beings: for them, there, both the mental formation will arise and the bodily formation arose.
