Suddhasaṅkhāravāra

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (1) · Vol. 38 · Section 1053

[1053] For whomever, wherever, bodily formation (kāyasaṅkhāra) arose, did mental formation (cittasaṅkhāra) arise for that one there? — Yes (āmantā). Or rather, for whomever, wherever, mental formation arose, did bodily formation arise for that one there? — For those who have attained the fourth jhāna (catutthajjhāna), for those of the form sphere (rūpāvacara), for those of the formless sphere (arūpāvacara): mental formation arose for them there, but bodily formation did not arise for them there. For those who have attained the first jhāna, the second jhāna, the third jhāna, for those of the sense sphere (kāmāvacara): for them there both mental formation arose and bodily formation arose.
